Thin-ICE is a cloud-based solution for the management, conservation, enhancement of accessible and inaccessible Cultural Heritage. Directly migrated from the results of the INCEPTION EU project, the natural field of application of ICE is Cultural Heritage. Thin-ICE is natively aimed at the owners of historical architectural complexes for the management and enhancement of the heritage, and for tourism purposes. Grounded on the ICE technology, this application provides 3D models where each element is semantically enriched, for an historical and documentary fruition of the most complex and complete Cultural Heritage site, while keeping a simplicity of use without requiring specific skills.
Thin-ICE allows both in-situ and remote fruition of 3D models also through immersive Virtual or Augmented reality navigation, through an inclusive approach aimed at enhancing the temporal dimension of the building through a real “time machine”.
Thin-ICE APIs allow the development of specific Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality apps for internal or external companies, in a B2B perspective, maintaining and using the data and the ICE semantic structure.
The platform is provided with customizable tools allowing to increase searches, use, downloads and uploads and accessibility through applications for new methods of analysis and use by tourists and operators in the Cultural Heritage sector, by connecting or integrating with existing tourist platforms.
INCEPTION Heritage-BIM
Thin-ICE also benefits of the INCEPTION Heritage-BIM (HBIM) semantic ontology, specifically aimed at Cultural Heritage, including many possible use cases, i.e. possible customers’ profiles and needs.
